Regular Season Round 9: Nassjo - Boras 97-92

Third defeat of league's leader Boras Basket (6-3) against eighth ranked Nassjo (2-7) 97-92 was the most important game of the last round. Nassjo made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. It was a good game for French point guard Sango Niang (183-93, college: Simon Fraser) who led his team to a victory with 24 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. American guard Angelo Griffis (196-92, college: Rochester, MI) contributed with 22 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Icelandic point guard Jakob Sigurdarson (192-82, college: Birm.Southern) answered with 28 points and 6 rebounds (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) and the former international point guard Andreas Person (190-91) added 17 points and 6 assists in the effort for Boras Basket. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Nassjo moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Uppsala. Boras Basket at the other side dropped to the second position with three games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by BC Lulea. Boras Basket will play next round against Umea trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Nassjo will try to continue on its current victory against fourth ranked Sodertalje Kings on the road.
