Regular Season Round 13: Yamanashi QB - Niigata R. 75-64

Yamanashi QB's fans can finally celebrate the first win of their team after 12 consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Niigata R. (0-13) 75-64. The game was mostly controlled by Yamanashi QB. Niigata R. was better in fourth quarter 29-24. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Niigata R. to just 6 points in second quarter. Yamanashi QB made 16-of-18 charity shots (88.9 percent) during the game. Forward Misa Yokoi (170-88) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and guard Uchibori Murasaki (165-94) chipped in 16 points and 8 rebounds. Four Yamanashi QB players scored in double figures. At the losing side guard Ayaka Kogure (163-91) responded with 16 points and forward Inoue Ai (172-90) scored 8 points and 10 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Yamanashi QB (1-12) left bottom position moving up to eleventh place. It was Niigata R.'s thirteenth loss in a row. They still close the standings with 13 games lost. Yamanashi QB will again play against bottom-ranked Niigata R. (#12) in Tokyo in the next round. Niigata R. will have a break next round.
