Rather predictable result when ninth ranked Fellbach (6-6) defeated at home 12th ranked Mainz (3-8) 82-74 on Sunday. They outrebounded Mainz 43-26 including a 34-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of Spanish Eduardo Gil-Fuentes (201-98) who helped to win the game recording 14 points and 6 rebounds and forward Nils-Frederik Menck (203-82) who added 12 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Four Fellbach players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was naturalized American point guard Anish Sharda (188-82, college: St.Mary's, KS) with 22 points and Latvian forward Janis Dumburs (198-96) scored 17 points. Fellbach moved-up to seventh place in South-West, which they share with Kaiserslautern. Mainz lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the twelfth position with eight games lost. Fellbach will face Limburg (#15) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Mainz will play against Crailsheim II and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
