Regular Season Round 9: KR - Tindastoll 97-69

Dominos League round 9 caused change at the leadership position. Second defeat of league's leader Tindastoll (7-2) against fourth ranked KR (6-3) 97-69 was the most important game of the last round. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Tindastoll. KR looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. 26 personal fouls committed by Tindastoll helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for the former international guard Brynjar Bjornsson (188-88, college: Francis Marion) who led his team to a victory with 33 points (!!!). Guard Bjorn Kristjansson (188-92) contributed with 18 points and 6 assists for the winners. International point guard Sigtryggur-Arnar Bjornsson (180-93) answered with 22 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Bjorgvin Rikhardsson (192-93) added 9 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Tindastoll. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion moved-up to third place, which they share with Keflavik and Haukar. Tindastoll at the other side still keeps top position with two games lost. They were joined at the leadership position by IR who have the same record. Tindastoll will play next round against Njardvik trying to make it back to the top of the standings. KR will try to continue on its current victory against twelfth ranked Hottur in Egilsstadir.
