Regular Season Round 13: Swords Thunder - Killester 73-76

The most exciting game of round 13 in the Super League took place in Dublin. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of much higher ranked Swords Thunder (8-4) to fourth ranked Killester (8-4) 76-73 in the game for the second place. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Swords Thunder. Killester made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. International point guard Ciaran Roe (170-93) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists for the winners and American guard Royce Williams (196, college: Ft.Hays State) chipped in 27 points and 5 rebounds. At the losing side American forward Conroy Baltimore (198, college: Lehigh) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 17 rebounds and 7 blocks and the former international point guard Isaac Westbrooks (189-85) scored 12 points. Swords Thunder's coach Dave Baker rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Killester moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Swords Thunder. Killester is looking forward to face Moycullen (#8) in Galway in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Swords Thunder will play at home against UCC Demons (#6) and is hoping to win this game.
