Regular Season Round 3: Al Wakrah - Al Rayyan 96-64

The game in Al Wakrah supposed to be also quite interesting. Al Rayyan (1-2) played at the court of Al Wakrah (2-1). Al Wakrah smashed Al Rayyan 96-64 on Sunday. Al Wakrah dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Al Rayyan's 24. It was an exceptional evening for American point guard Marcus Johnson-Jr (180-95, college: UALR) who led the winners and scored 32 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Guamanian-American guard Earnest Ross (196-91, college: Missouri, agency: MKP Management) accounted for 20 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. American forward Stephen Hurt (211-93, college: Kansas St.) came up with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 14 rebounds and the other American import guard Sherwood Brown (193-91, college: FGCU) added 21 points respectively for Al Rayyan in the defeat. Al Wakrah will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Al Rayyan's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Doha Al Arabi.
