Regular Season Round 11: Ostrava - Novy Jicin 58-70

Another exciting game was between seventh ranked Novy Jicin and 5th ranked Ostrava where Novy Jicin (6-5) beat Ostrava (5-6) on the road 70-58. Novy Jicin had a 29-18 advantage in offensive rebounds. Guard Zdenek Jakubu (184-97) orchestrated the victory by scoring 9 points and 8 rebounds. Jan Leczo (198-96) contributed with 9 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Forward Tomas Havlik (190-99) answered with 15 points and 6 rebounds and forward Ondrej Siko (199-81) added 11 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Ostrava. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Novy Jicin have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to third place in East, which they share with Opava B. Ostrava at the other side dropped to the sixth position with six games lost. They share it with BCM Orli and Sokol Slapanice. Novy Jicin will play against Pardubice (#9) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Ostrava will play against Sokol Slapanice in Slapnice and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
