Regular Season Round 12: Ehingen - Trier 84-76

We should mention about the upset which took place in Allmendingen, where 12th ranked Gladiators (4-8) lost to fifteenth ranked Ehingen/Urspringschule (3-9) in a road game 76-84. Ehingen/Urspringschule made 20-of-21 charity shots (95.2 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Gladiators' players. It was a good game for American guard Davonte Lacy (193-93, college: Washington St.) who led his team to a victory with 29 points and 8 assists. The other American import forward Seger Bonifant (201-93, college: W.Liberty St.) contributed with 20 points for the winners. Point guard Simon Schmitz (188-90) replied with 18 points and Jamaican-Canadian forward Jermaine Bucknor (201-83, college: Richmond) added 6 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Gladiators. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Ehingen/Urspringschule moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with OrangeAcademy. Gladiators lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth position with eight games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Ehingen/Urspringschule will play against higher ranked MLP Academics Heidelberg (#7) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Gladiators will play against OrangeAcademy and hope to get back on the winning track.
