Regular Season Round 8: Poitiers - Charleville 94-75

Bottom-ranked Charleville-Mezieres is still unable to win any game. This time they lost on the road their seventh consecutive match to fifteenth ranked Poitiers (3-5) 94-75. The game was mostly controlled by Poitiers. Charleville-Mezieres was better in third quarter 24-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Poitiers made 22-of-27 charity shots (81.5 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Charleville-Mezieres was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Ricky Tarrant (188-93, college: Memphis) who helped to win the game recording 35 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 8 assists (was perfect 14-for-14 from the free throw line !!!) and American-Dominican guard Anthony Goods (191-87, college: Stanford, agency: Pensack Sports) who added 20 points during the contest. Four Poitiers players scored in double figures. Point guard Alexandre Moisy (175-95) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 assists and American forward Dom Morris (201-90, college: Boston U.) scored 18 points and 8 rebounds. Charleville-Mezieres' coach tested ten players seeing no chance for a win. Poitiers moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Nantes. Charleville-Mezieres at the other side still closes the standings with seven games lost. Poitiers will play against higher ranked Chorale de Roanne (#3) at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Charleville-Mezieres will play against SPO Rouen (#10) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
