Regular Season Round 13: Brissac Anjou - Lorient 93-72

There was a surprise result when twelfth ranked Brissac-Aubance (6-7) crushed higher ranked Lorient (8-5) in Brissac-Quince 93-72 on Saturday. Brissac-Aubance dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Lorient's 30 and made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Lorient 37-19 including 24 on the defensive glass. Brissac-Aubance looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a very good performance for Lithuanian forward Darius Tarvydas (200-91) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. Naturalized Mali swingman Sourata Cisse (196-86) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Lithuanian center Dominykas Milka (203-92, college: St.Rose, NY) answered with 19 points and American forward Jared Newson (196-84, college: Tenn-Martin, agency: Inception Sports) added 10 points and 4 assists in the effort for Lorient. Five Brissac-Aubance and four Lorient players scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Brissac-Aubance. They moved-up to ninth place, which they share with ALS Basket and Boulogne. Loser Lorient keeps the fifth position with five games lost. Brissac-Aubance will face Aubenas (#15) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Lorient will play against Vendee Challans (#8) and hope to win that game.
