Vietnamese Saigon Heat (0-1) recorded a loss at the home court on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by Taiwanese Formosa D. (1-2) 80-75. Formosa D. had a 41-28 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American Lenny Daniel (203-87, college: CS Northridge) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 19 rebounds. His fellow American import center Jaleel Cousins (211-93, college: S.Florida) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points and 19 rebounds. Four Formosa D. players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Jamaican-American guard Akeem Scott (185-83, college: High Point) who recorded 29 points and 7 rebounds and American Travele Jones (203-88, college: Texas Southern) added 22 points and 15 rebounds respectively. Formosa D. is looking forward to face Hong Kong ELL at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Saigon Heat will play against Mono Vampire (#3) in Bangkok and hopes to get finally their first victory.
