Regular Season Round 9: Arkadikos - Amyntas Dafnis 67-75

No shocking result in a game in Arkadia where sixth ranked Amyntas Dafnis (5-3) defeated 15th ranked Arkadikos (1-8) 75-67 on Saturday. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 27-11. But Arkadikos won second period 20-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was forward Spyros Diamantopoulos (197-83) who scored 27 points and 8 rebounds. Point guard Leonidas Zoupas (182-82) chipped in 11 points. At the other side the best for losing team was center Savvas Tsougarakis (207-86) who recorded a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds and forward Giannis Prodromou (196-87) added 12 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Amyntas Dafnis. They moved-up to fifth place. Arkadikos lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the fifteenth position with eight games lost. Amyntas Dafnis will face higher ranked Iraklis (#4) in Thessaloniki in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Arkadikos will play on the road against Psychiko (#7) in Athens and hope to win that game.
