Regular Season Round 5: Astana Tigers - Dynamo M. 53-82
Date: December 10, 2017
Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both twelfth ranked Russian Dynamo Moscow and 14th ranked Kazakhstan Astana Tigers had identical 1-3 record. But Astana Tigers were not able to use a home court advantage and were rolled over by the opponent from Moscow 82-53 on Sunday night. Dynamo Moscow dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Astana Tigers' 28. Dynamo Moscow forced 20 Astana Tigers turnovers. The best player for the winners was forward Albina Razheva (189-94, agency: LBM Management) who scored 22 points and 8 rebounds. American center Kelsey Lang (196-95, college: Texas) chipped in 12 points and 8 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Center Nadezhda Kondrakova (190-89) produced 12 points and 9 rebounds and forward Zalina Kurazova (188-85) added 10 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Dynamo Moscow (2-3) moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Tsmoki-Minsk and Bornova. Defending Kazakhstan champion Astana Tigers dropped to the twelfth position with four games lost. They share it with Canik Belediye and Sirenos.
