Regular Season Round 22: Aomori Watts - Akita NH 71-70

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Akita Happinets (18-3) on the court of fifth ranked Aomori Watts on Sunday night. Visitors were edged by Aomori Watts 71-70. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Akita Happinets. Point guard Keisuke Aita (182-95) scored 23 points to lead the charge for the winners and American forward Joe Burton (201-90, college: Oregon St.) chipped in 13 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. At the losing side international guard Shigehiro Taguchi (184-90) responded with 17 points and 4 assists and American forward Toarlyn Fitzpatrick (203-89, college: S.Florida) scored 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Aomori Watts maintains fifth position with 5-16 record. Akita Happinets at the other side still keep top place with three games lost. They share the position with Fukuoka Rizing. Aomori Watts are looking forward to face higher ranked Gunma (#3) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Akita Happinets will play against Dragonflies and are hoping to win this game.
