Regular Season Round 19: Libertadores - Santos 69-70

A very interesting game took place in Queretaro. It ended with only one-point home defeat of 10th ranked Libertadores (5-12) to eighth ranked Santos (7-10) 70-69 on Monday evening. It was an exceptional evening for American-Dominican Antonio Pena (204-86, college: Villanova) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 30 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international power forward Arim Solares (202-83) accounted for 4 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. Santos' coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American power forward Gerard DeVaughn (206-88, college: Stillman) came up with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import forward Christopher Moore (205-82, college: Virginia Union) added 15 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Libertadores in the defeat. Santos moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Aaguacateros and Toros. Newly promoted Libertadores keep the tenth position with 12 games lost. Santos will have a break next round. Libertadores will play again at home against Santos (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
