Regular Season Round 13: Opava B - Novy Jicin 90-68

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Novy Jicin (7-6) against sixth ranked B&W Opava B (7-6) on Friday night. Visiting Novy Jicin was crushed by B&W Opava B in Opava 90-68. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Novy Jicin. B&W Opava B dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Novy Jicin's 42. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Center Miroslav Kvapil (202-93) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 17 rebounds for the winners and guard Rostislav Dragoun (190-96) chipped in 16 points, 11 rebounds, 7 assists and 7 steals. Four B&W Opava B players scored in double figures. B&W Opava B's coach felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side center Tadeas Janik (201-94) responded with 31 points (on 14-of-16 shooting from the field) and Jan Leczo (198-96) scored 8 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. B&W Opava B moved-up to third place in East, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Novy Jicin. B&W Opava B will play against Sokol Slapanice (#8) in Slapnice in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Novy Jicin will play at home against BK Prostejov B (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
