Regular Season Round 16: Guangzhou LL - Zhejiang GB 91-88

A very close game took place in Guangzhou between Long-Lions and Golden Bulls. Tenth ranked Long-Lions (9-7) got a very close home victory over 8th ranked Golden Bulls (10-6). Long-Lions managed to escape with a 3-point win 91-88 on Friday evening. Long-Lions made 27-of-31 free shots (87.1 percent) during the game, while Golden Bulls only scored eleven points from the stripe. Palestinian center Sani Sakakini (204-88) fired a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. American forward Tyler Hansbrough (206-85, college: N.Carolina) chipped in 25 points and 8 rebounds (made all of his eleven free throws !!!). Four Long-Lions players scored in double figures. International guard Qian Wu (190-94) produced 31 points and American swingman Sonny Weems (198-86, college: Arkansas) added 19 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Long-Lions maintains tenth position with 9-7 record. Loser Golden Bulls keep the eighth place with six games lost. They share the position with Xinjiang FT. Long-Lions will meet Jilin Tigers (#18) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Golden Bulls will play against Guandong Tigers (#5) in Dongguan and hope to secure a win.
