Very predictable result when second ranked BK Opava (10-3) smashed at home 8th ranked NH Ostrava (5-7) 111-78 on Saturday. BK Opava dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to NH Ostrava's 38 and made 20-of-24 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. BK Opava looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. NH Ostrava was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The former international guard Radim Klecka (189-90) stepped up and scored 25 points for the winners and center Vaclav Bujnoch (200-93, college: Des Moines Area CC) chipped in 20 points and 6 rebounds. BK Opava's coach Petr Czudek felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for BK Opava. They maintain second place with 10-3 record having just one point less than leader CEZ Nymburk. NH Ostrava lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the ninth position with seven games lost. BK Opava will face Basketbal Svitavy (#4) on the road in the next round. NH Ostrava will play against BK Pardubice (#3) and hope to win that game.
