Everything went according to plan when fifth ranked Lorient (9-5) beat at home 8th ranked Vendee Challans (7-7) 97-79 on Saturday. Lorient shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 60.0 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Lithuanian center Dominykas Milka (203-92, college: St.Rose, NY) scored 19 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American forward Jared Newson (196-84, college: Tenn-Martin, agency: Inception Sports) chipped in 19 points during the contest. Naturalized Mali point guard Ibrahim Saounera (179-87) responded with 15 points and 7 assists and American power forward Steffon Bradford (198-77, college: Nebraska) scored 19 points. Five Lorient and four Vendee Challans players scored in double figures. Lorient maintains fifth position with 9-5 record, which they share with RAC Basket. Loser Vendee Challans dropped to the seventh place with seven games lost. Lorient will face higher ranked Saint-Quentin (#4) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Vendee Challans will play against Aubenas and hope to win that game.
