Regular Season Round 19: Kupol-Rodniki - CSKA 2 79-90

Everything went according to plan in Izhevsk where second ranked CSKA 2 (14-3) beat 10th ranked Kupol-Rodniki (7-12) 90-79. CSKA 2 players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. It was a very good performance for international forward Anton Astapkovich (202-94) who helped to win the game recording 16 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Alexander Gavrilov (193-96) contributed with 11 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Center Aleksey Karpeko (204-89) answered with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Ilya Podobedov (184-91) added 15 points in the effort for Kupol-Rodniki. Five CSKA 2 and four Kupol-Rodniki players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. CSKA 2 have a solid series of three victories in a row. Newly promoted CSKA 2 maintains second place with 14-3 record behind leader Spartak-Prim. Kupol-Rodniki lost third consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with 12 games lost. CSKA 2's next round opponent will be Ryazan (#13) at home which should be an easy win for them. Kupol-Rodniki will play against Samara-SGEU and hope to win that game.
