Regular Season Round 10: Beroe - Spartak Pleven 111-77

Bottom-ranked Spartak Pleven (0-9) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 111-77 loss to seventh ranked Beroe (4-5) in Stara Zagora on Saturday evening. The game without a history. Beroe led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Spartak Pleven's 24. They outrebounded Spartak Pleven 46-32 including a 33-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Beroe looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. International forward Aleksandar Yanev-Georgiev (203-90, agency: 011 Sports) had a double-double by scoring 26 points and 12 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Ivorian forward Adjehi Baru (206-91, college: Charleston, agency: KMG Sports Management) chipped in 14 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. Five Beroe players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Konstantin Koev (196-91) responded with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 12 rebounds and point guard Nikolay Marinov (174-94) scored 21 points and 4 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Beroe moved-up to sixth place. Loser Spartak Pleven still closes the standings with nine games lost. Beroe will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Spartak Pleven will play against Yambol (#8) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
