Regular Season Round 10: TLU/Kalev - Parnu 76-80

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Tallinn where 5th ranked TLU/Kalev (5-6) was defeated by sixth ranked Parnu (5-6) 80-76 on Saturday. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 22-12. But TLU/Kalev won second period 18-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Parnu won last quarter 22-19. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to TLU/Kalev's 18. Point guard Siim-Markus Post (183-97) fired 17 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Forward Mihkel Kirves (190-96) chipped in 16 points and 7 rebounds. The former international point guard Kristo Saage (186-85) produced 18 points and 5 assists and Serbian center Djordje Dzeletovic (205-93) added 20 points respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Parnu moved-up to fifth place, which they share with defeated TLU/Kalev. Parnu will meet at home higher ranked Tartu Ulikool (#4) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. TLU/Kalev will have a break next round.
