No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Sydney Uni Flames (11-7) smashed at home bottom-ranked Bendigo Spirit (3-14) 90-57 on Saturday. They outrebounded Bendigo Spirit 38-25 including a 27-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Sydney Uni Flames looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Bendigo Spirit's players. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was center Jennifer Hamson (201-92, college: BYU, agency: LBM Management) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds. Forward Asia Taylor (188-91, college: Louisville, agency: LBM Management) chipped in 13 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Betnijah Laney (183-93, college: Rutgers, agency: LBM Management) produced 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Rachel Banham (175-93, college: Minnesota, agency: LBM Management) added 13 points respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion moved-up to third place, which they share with Melbourne. Bendigo Spirit lost their fifth game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with 14 games lost. Sydney Uni Flames will face Adelaide Lightning (#5) at home in the next round. Bendigo Spirit will play against the league's second-placed Townsville Fire and hope to win that game.
