Top ranked Beijing Great Wall (10-4) recorded its fourth loss at the home court on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by thirteenth ranked Zhejiang Far East (5-9) 73-61. Zhejiang Far East looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Natasha Howard (190-91, college: Florida St., agency: ProDep Management) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 16 rebounds. Guard Haimei Wang (172-97) chipped in 23 points and 6 assists (perfect from downtown making all five shots). American center Sylvia Fowles (198-85, college: LSU) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 16 rebounds and international forward Ting Shao (183-89) added 14 points and 4 assists respectively for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Zhejiang Far East moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Shenyang. Defending champion Beijing Great Wall still keeps top position with four games lost. They share it with Shanghai and Xinjiang. Zhejiang Far East is looking forward to face higher ranked Jiangsu Phoenix (#7) in Yixing in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Beijing Great Wall will play against Shaanxi Tianze (#14) and is hoping to win this game.
