Regular Season Round 13: Sokol Pisek - Basket Kosice 87-68

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Basket Kosice (10-4) on the court of eighth ranked Sokol Pisek on Sunday night. Visitors were rolled over by Sokol Pisek 87-68. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Basket Kosice. Sokol Pisek dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Basket Kosice's 36. Sokol Pisek forced 20 Basket Kosice turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Petr Slechta (192-95) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 5 rebounds. Power forward Pavel Englicky (210-83) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Martin Hruby (192-87) answered with 11 points and 9 rebounds and power forward Dusan Hlavacek (197-77) added 12 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Basket Kosice. Four Sokol Pisek and five Basket Kosice players scored in double figures. Sokol Pisek (4-7) moved-up to seventh place in West, which they share with GBA Sparta. Basket Kosice at the other side still keeps top position with four games lost. Sokol Pisek is looking forward to face higher ranked BK Loko Plzen (#5) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Basket Kosice will play against Nymburk B (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
