Regular Season Round 4: Formosa D. - Hong Kong ELL 97-120

ASEAN League top team - Hong Kong Hong Kong ELL (7-0) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed seventh ranked Taiwanese Formosa D. (1-4) in Changhua City 120-97. Hong Kong ELL made 23-of-29 free shots (79.3 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Formosa D. turnovers. It was a great shooting night for Hong Kong ELL especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.0 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. Formosa D. was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. American players dominated the game. It was a very good performance for guard Marcus Elliott (191-84, college: Louisiana Tech) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points, 7 rebounds and 13 assists. Guard Tyler Lamb (196-91, college: Long Beach St.) contributed with 22 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Lenny Daniel (203-87, college: CS Northridge) replied with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds and center Jaleel Cousins (211-93, college: S.Florida) added 18 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Formosa D.Five Hong Kong ELL and four Formosa D. players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Hong Kong ELL have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 7-0 record. Loser Formosa D. dropped to the bottom place with four games lost. Hong Kong ELL will face Saigon Heat (#6) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Formosa D. will play against the league's second-placed Mono Vampire and hope to win that game.
