Regular Season Round 14: Kronberg - Koblenz 64-103

Very predictable result when third ranked Koblenz (9-4) rolled over on the road 11th ranked Kronberg (4-9) 103-64 on Sunday. Koblenz made 25-of-31 free shots (80.6 percent) during the game. They also forced 22 Kronberg turnovers and outrebounded them 34-23 including 25 on the defensive glass. Koblenz shot the lights out from three sinking 18 long-distance shots on high 51.4 percentage. Kronberg was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American forward Marlin Mason (201-93, college: Cleveland St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 14 points and 8 rebounds. Slovenian power forward Drago Brcina (205-87) contributed with 19 points for the winners. Four Koblenz players scored in double figures. Naturalized Bosnian swingman Amil Klisura (196-89) replied with 14 points and Jure Puljas (200-89) added 16 points in the effort for Kronberg. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Koblenz maintains third position in South-West with 9-4 record having seven points less than leader Grevenbroich, which they share with 3 other teams. Newly promoted Kronberg keeps the eleventh place with nine games lost. Koblenz will face Crailsheim II (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Kronberg will play against Kaiserslautern and hope to win that game.
