Regular Season Round 8: Tartu Ulikool - TTU 118-63

Not a big story in a game when 11th ranked TTU (2-5) was rolled over on the road by ninth ranked Tartu Ulikool (5-2) 118-63 on Monday. Tartu Ulikool dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to TTU's 28 and made 35-of-44 free shots (79.5 percent) during the game, while TTU only scored fourteen points from the stripe. Tartu Ulikool forced 20 TTU turnovers and outrebounded them 43-24 including a 31-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Tartu Ulikool especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by TTU's players. TTU was plagued by 35 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of Swedish center Carl Engstrom (216-91, college: Alabama) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 8 rebounds and forward Kristjan Kitsing (205-90, agency: Octagon Europe) who added 12 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Five Tartu Ulikool players scored in double figures. Toomas Raadik (202-90, agency: Promotex) responded with 17 points and American forward Levi Giese (206-90, college: Lafayette, agency: Blacktop Management) scored 12 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Tartu Ulikool maintains ninth position with 5-2 record, which they share with BK Ogre. TTU lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth place with five games lost. Tartu Ulikool will face higher ranked P.Zvaigzdes (#8) in Pasvalys in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. TTU's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Tallinn TLU/Kalev.
