Regular Season Round 15: Guangdong - Shanxi XR 70-72

The most exciting game of round 15 in the WCBA took place in Guangzhou. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 6th ranked Guangdong Dolphins (8-7) to fourth ranked Xing Rui (10-5) 72-70 in the game for the fourth place. It was a great shooting night for Xing Rui especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. It was a good game for Bahamas center Jonquel Jones (198-94, college: G.Washington) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 18 rebounds and 4 blocks. Tongtong Wu contributed with 10 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American power forward Amber Harris (195-88, college: Xavier) answered with 17 points and 9 rebounds and the former international guard LiWei Yang (175-95) added 18 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Guangdong Dolphins. Xing Rui maintains fourth place with 10-5 record. Guangdong Dolphins lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth position with seven games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Xing Rui are looking forward to face Shenyang Golden Lions (#11) in Dandong in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Guangdong Dolphins will play at home against Shanghai Dahua (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
