Regular Season Round 11: Rivne - Khimik-2 80-39

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 4th placed Khimik-2's (4-6) road loss to third ranked Rivne-OSHVSM (7-3) 39-80 on Thursday. The game without a history. Rivne-OSHVSM led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Khimik-2 to just 6 points in second quarter. Rivne-OSHVSM held Khimik-2 to an opponent 24.1 percent shooting from the field compared to 44.1 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Khimik-2 52-29 including a 40-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. Rivne-OSHVSM looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 5 passes made by Khimik-2's players. It was a great evening for point guard Taras Shaniuk (179-92) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points and 6 rebounds. Swingman Nazar Kisilchuk (194-97) helped adding 13 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Dmytro Holovchyk (187-0) responded with 15 points and point guard Vadym Kozak (181-99) scored 4 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Rivne-OSHVSM maintains third place with 7-3 record having seven points less than leader Dinamo. Loser Khimik-2 keeps the fourth position with six games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
