No shocking result in a game when third ranked Soles (14-7) beat bottom-ranked Libertadores (5-16) in Mexicali 109-94. Soles players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Eugene Phelps (198-90, college: Long Beach St.) who had a double-double by scoring 26 points and 12 rebounds. His fellow American import forward John Flowers (200-89, college: W.Virginia, agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in 19 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Soles' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Dominican-Puerto Rican forward Jonathan Rodriguez (196-87, college: Campbell) produced 28 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and American forward Christopher Moore (205-82, college: Virginia Union) added 19 points and 12 rebounds respectively for the guests. Four Soles and five Libertadores players scored in double figures. Soles have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Mineros. Libertadores lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom position with 16 games lost. Soles' next round opponent will be again bottom-ranked Libertadores (#11) in Queretaro and are hoping to win another game.
