Regular Season Round 13: Alghero - Cagliari V. 58-63

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both fourteenth ranked Cagliari V. and 13th ranked Alghero had identical 1-10 record. But Alghero was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Cagliari 63-58. It was a very good performance for power forward Francesca Orsini (185-95) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. Bulgarian point guard Iva Georgieva (170-96, college: Salt Lake CC) contributed with 10 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four Cagliari V. players scored in double figures. Cagliari V.'s coach Iris Ferazzoli allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Point guard Sara Azzellini (170-86) answered with 11 points and 9 rebounds and Arianna Beretta (178-96, agency: SPORTlab Agency) added 13 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Alghero. Cagliari V. (2-10) moved-up to thirteenth place in A2. Alghero at the other side dropped to the fourteenth position with 11 games lost. Cagliari V.'s next round opponent will be higher ranked Bologna (#3) at home and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Alghero will play against Umbertide (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
