Regular Season Round 13: Lakers - Geneve Lions 52-74

Date: December 22, 2017
Not a big story in a game when 12th ranked Lakers (1-12) were outscored by third ranked Geneve Lions (11-2) in Vevey 74-52. The former international Marko Mladjan (205-93) stepped up and scored 16 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and American center Eric Williams (206-84, college: Wake Forest, agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in 13 points and 6 rebounds. Four Geneve Lions players scored in double figures. At the losing side Senegalese center Mansour Kasse (208-92) responded with 8 points and 14 rebounds and the former international point guard Steeve Louissaint (191-87) scored 8 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Geneve Lions have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Lugano Tigers. Lakers lost twelfth consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom position with 12 games lost. Geneve Lions will play against Neuchatel (#4) on the road in the next round. Lakers will play against the league's leader Fribourg (#1) to get more than just one victory in their record.
