Regular Season Round 11: Vichy Clermont - Blois 89-90

A very close game took place in Vichy between ADA Blois and JA Vichy. Fifth ranked ADA Blois (8-3) got a very close victory on the road over 10th ranked JA Vichy (5-6). ADA Blois managed to escape with a 1-point win 90-89 on Saturday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. ADA Blois forced 20 JA Vichy turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American-Bahamas forward Jonathan Fairell (201-93, college: Murray St., agency: Duran International) who led the winners and scored 23 points and 7 rebounds. American point guard Jerrold Brooks (183-91, college: S.Mississippi) accounted for 15 points and 12 assists for the winning side. ADA Blois' coach Mickael Hay used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. David Denave (193-85) came up with 30 points and 5 assists (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) and naturalized Ivorian center Mohamed Kone (211-81, college: Valparaiso) added 16 points and 10 rebounds respectively for JA Vichy in the defeat. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. ADA Blois have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Saint-Chamond. JA Vichy lost third consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with six games lost. ADA Blois will meet at home Quimper UJAP (#17) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. JA Vichy will play against SPO Rouen (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
