Regular Season Round 10: Cherno More - Beroe 59-117
Date: December 23, 2017
Bottom-ranked Cherno More is still unable to win any game. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their sixth consecutive match to second ranked Beroe (6-1) 117-59 on Saturday evening. Beroe dominated down low during the game scoring 86 of its points in the paint compared to Cherno More's 36. Beroe forced 50 Cherno More turnovers and had a 19-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Cherno More's players. It was a very good performance for swingman Petya Boyadjieva (178-98) who helped to win the game recording 31 points and 9 rebounds. International forward Gabriela Nikolova (183-97) contributed with 21 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Five Beroe players scored in double figures. Forward Juliana Valcheva (184-99) replied with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists and swingman Maria Gencheva (185-99) added 7 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Cherno More. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Beroe have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position in East with 6-1 record having 2 victories less than leader Montana 2003. Newly promoted Cherno More still closes the standings with six games lost. Beroe will face league's leader Haskovo 2012 at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week.
