Very important is a road loss of third ranked Golden Stars (14-6) against fifteenth ranked Brave Dragons (7-13) on Sunday night. Visiting Golden Stars were defeated by Brave Dragons in Taiyuan 128-114. Brave Dragons outrebounded Golden Stars 54-31 including a 41-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Golden Stars were plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Argentinian-Spanish power forward Luis Scola (206-80) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 31 points, 23 rebounds and 4 assists. American point guard Willie Warren (193-89, college: Oklahoma) contributed with 25 points for the winners. American point guard Ty Lawson (180-87, college: N.Carolina) replied with 32 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists and the former international point guard Qingpeng Zhang (187-81) added 23 points in the effort for Golden Stars. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Brave Dragons maintains fifteenth position with 7-13 record, which they share with Qingdao E. Golden Stars at the other side dropped to the fourth place with six games lost. They share the position with Guangdong ST and Shenzhen L.. Brave Dragons will play against Eagles (#16) in Qingdao in the next round. Golden Stars will have a break next round.
