Regular Season Round 10: Al Sadd - Al Rayyan 85-92

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Doha: Al Rayyan (#7) and Al Sadd (#4). Al Sadd was defeated at home 85-92 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Al Rayyan outrebounded Al Sadd 39-27 including a 28-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The former international forward Tanguy Ngombo (197-84) had a double-double by scoring 31 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American forward Stephen Hurt (211-93, college: Kansas St.) chipped in 12 points, 11 rebounds and 9 assists during the contest. At the losing side American Julius Coles (193-89, college: Canisius) responded with 25 points and 6 assists and American-Albanian forward Mike Moser (203-90, college: Oregon) scored 21 points and 9 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Al Rayyan maintains seventh position with 3-6 record. Al Sadd at the other side dropped to the fifth place with four games lost.
