Everything could happen in Taiyuan at the game between two tied teams. Both fifteenth ranked Brave Dragons and 16th ranked Eagles had identical 7-13 record. This time Brave Dragons used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Qingdao 122-109. Brave Dragons dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Eagles' 48. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 30 assists comparing to just 17 passes made by Eagles' players. Eagles were plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. Argentinian-Spanish power forward Luis Scola (206-80) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and American point guard Willie Warren (193-89, college: Oklahoma) chipped in 26 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). The best for the losing side was American point guard Jonathan Gibson (188-87, college: N.Mexico St.) with a double-double by scoring 41 points (!!!), 14 rebounds and 9 assists and center Zan Zong (208-89) scored 15 points and 9 rebounds. Five Brave Dragons and four Eagles players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Brave Dragons maintains fifteenth place with 8-13 record. Eagles at the other side keep the sixteenth position with 14 games lost. Brave Dragons will play against Gold Lions (#18) in Tianjin in the next round. Eagles will play at home against Fly Dragons and hope to get back on the winning track.
