Rather predictable result when tenth ranked MBA Moscow (8-12) rolled over at home 12th ranked Spartak St.Petersburg (6-13) 102-83. They outrebounded Spartak St.Petersburg 39-28 including 18 on the offensive glass. MBA Moscow players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. The best player for the winners was Pavel Afanasiev (201-96) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Dmitry Korshakov (201-91) chipped in 13 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Four MBA Moscow players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Jimmy Gavin (190-91, college: Winthrop) who recorded 18 points and 4 assists and forward Andrey Semenov (200-90, college: JMU) added 17 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. MBA Moscow maintains tenth place with 8-12 record. Newly promoted Spartak St.Petersburg keeps the twelfth position with 13 games lost. MBA Moscow's next round opponent will be higher ranked Ural Ekaterinburg (#4) on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Spartak St.Petersburg will play against Universitet-Yugra (#7) and hope to win that game.
