Regular Season Round 22: Jiangsu D. - Fujian S. 130-112

There was no surprise in Nanjing where 14th ranked Sturgeons (8-13) were defeated by second ranked Jiangsu Dragons (17-5) 130-112 on Thursday. Jiangsu Dragons made 27-of-32 free shots (84.4 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Sturgeons' players. Sturgeons were plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. American swingman MarShon Brooks (196-89, college: Providence) had a triple-double by scoring 45 points (!!!), 11 rebounds and 11 assists (made all of his thirteen free throws !!!) to lead the charge for the winners and Serbian center Miroslav Raduljica (213-88) chipped in 30 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. At the losing side American point guard Russ Smith (183-91, college: Louisville) responded with 44 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 4 assists and international forward LinJian Chen (198-93) scored 16 points and 6 rebounds. Five Sturgeons players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Jiangsu Dragons have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 17-5 record behind leader Guangsha L. Sturgeons lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fifteenth place with 13 games lost. Jiangsu Dragons will face Jilin Tigers (#17) in Changchun in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Sturgeons will play at home against Golden Stars and hope to win that game.
