Regular Season Round 14: BK Kolin - Usti n/Labem 81-97

There was no surprise when 10th ranked BK Kolin (5-8) was defeated at home by fifth ranked BK Usti nad Labem (8-6) 97-81. BK Usti nad Labem made 19-of-21 charity shots (90.5 percent) during the game. 24 personal fouls committed by BK Kolin helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Power forward David Steffel (212-85) notched 20 points to lead the effort and American point guard Evan Singletary (185-94, college: Albany) supported him with 19 points (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!). Even 24 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists by international swingman Petr Safarcik (193-94) did not help to save the game for BK Kolin. American forward Lee Skinner (198-92, college: Wofford) added 17 points and 8 rebounds for the hosts. Five BK Usti nad Labem and four BK Kolin players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. BK Usti nad Labem have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Svitavy. BK Kolin at the other side dropped to the ninth position with eight games lost. BK Usti nad Labem's next round opponent will be BK Olomoucko (#7) in Prostejov. BK Kolin will play at home against BK Lions Hradec and hope to win that game.
