Regular Season Round 12: Cluj Napoca - ICIM Arad 81-86

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when eighth ranked ICIM Arad (4-7) defeated on the road 7th ranked Cluj Napoca (4-8) 86-81 on Thursday. Cluj Napoca was trailing by 10 points at halftime but managed to get 5-point lead after three quarters before a 20-10 charge of ICIM Arad, which allowed them to win the game. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Cluj Napoca's 38. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Monique Coker (185-82, college: ODU) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds and Serbian guard Brankica Hadzovic (175-81) who added 13 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was American forward Amanda Thompson (178-87, college: Oklahoma) with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) and her fellow American import point guard Leslie Vorpahl (168-95, college: Tulane) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. ICIM Arad moved-up to seventh place. Cluj Napoca lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with eight games lost. ICIM Arad will face higher ranked Timisoara (#6) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
