Regular Season Round 21: Kupol-Rodniki - Ryazan 91-68

Rather expected game when 13th ranked Ryazan (3-17) was smashed by eleventh ranked Kupol-Rodniki (8-13) in Izhevsk 91-68. Kupol-Rodniki dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Ryazan's 30 and made 23-of-26 charity shots (88.5 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Ryazan 46-34 including a 34-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was center Ruslan Abdulbasirov (211-93) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). Guard Viktor Kashin (193-94) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 assists. Four Kupol-Rodniki players scored in double figures. Kupol-Rodniki's coach felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Evgeny Voytyuk (201-91, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) who recorded 15 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Daniil Axenov (183-95) added 16 points respectively. Kupol-Rodniki maintains eleventh place with 8-13 record. Ryazan lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with 17 games lost. Kupol-Rodniki's next round opponent will be higher ranked Irkut Irkutsk (#9) on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Ryazan will play against Samara-SGEU (#3) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
