Regular Season Round 25: Aaguacateros - Soles 72-90

Date: December 29, 2017
The game in Michoacan was also worth to mention about. Third ranked Soles (16-7) played at the court of 7th ranked Aaguacateros (10-13). Soles did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 90-72. Soles outrebounded Aaguacateros 43-27 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Eugene Phelps (198-90, college: Long Beach St.) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 7 rebounds. International point guard Orlando Mendez-Valdez (183-86, college: W.Kentucky, agency: Pro Sports) contributed with 22 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Soles' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American center Maurice Sutton (211-89, college: Villanova) answered with 18 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks and the other American import forward Tyrone White (201-90, college: CSU Bakersfield) added 14 points in the effort for Aaguacateros. Four Aaguacateros players scored in double figures. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Soles. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Mineros. Aaguacateros at the other side keep the seventh position with 13 games lost. They share it with Santos. Soles will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Aaguacateros will play again at home against Soles (#3) and hope to get back on the winning track.
