Rather predictable result in Tianjin where fifteenth ranked Brave Dragons (9-13) defeated 18th ranked Gold Lions (4-18) 117-108 on Friday. They outrebounded Gold Lions 50-39 including 38 on the defensive glass. Brave Dragons looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Argentinian-Spanish power forward Luis Scola (206-80) had a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!), 13 rebounds and 7 assists to lead the charge for the winners and international guard LingXu Zeng (193-87) chipped in 15 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists during the contest. At the losing side American-Ukrainian point guard Eugene Jeter (180-83, college: Portland) responded with a double-double by scoring 40 points (!!!), 5 rebounds, 11 assists and 5 steals and power forward Tian Lei (202) scored 15 points and 9 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Brave Dragons have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourteenth place. Gold Lions lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eighteenth position with 18 games lost. Brave Dragons will face higher ranked Sharks (#12) in Shanghai in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Gold Lions will play on the road against Fly Dragons (#11) in Beijing and hope to win that game.
