Regular Season Round 29: Hiroshima D. - Cyberdyne IR 79-72

There was a minor upset in Hiroshima where 4th placed Cyberdyne IR (13-14) was defeated by fourth ranked Dragonflies (16-12) 79-72 on Saturday. Dragonflies looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Dragonflies made 8 blocks. The best player for the winners was American power forward Clint Chapman (208-89, college: Texas) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds. The former international forward Shogo Asayama (192-81) chipped in 18 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). American power forward Rick Rickert (211-83, college: Minnesota) produced a double-double by scoring 29 points and 13 rebounds and swingman Josei Maniwa (193-86) added 15 points and 5 assists respectively for the guests. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Dragonflies keep a position of league leader, which they share with Toyotsu FE. Loser Cyberdyne IR keeps the fourth place with 14 games lost. Dragonflies will face league's second-placed Kumamoto V. on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Cyberdyne IR will play against the league's second-placed Gunma and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
