The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Doha: Al Rayyan (#7) and Qatar Sports Club (#2). Qatar Sports Club was crushed at home by 36 points 66-102 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Al Rayyan outrebounded Qatar Sports Club 62-32 including a 22-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Sherwood Brown (193-91, college: FGCU) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points, 13 rebounds and 9 assists. His fellow American import forward Stephen Hurt (211-93, college: Kansas St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points, 15 rebounds and 4 blocks. Five Al Rayyan players scored in double figures. American forward Nick West (208-94, college: Alabama A&M) produced 16 points and 9 rebounds and the former international center Mohd-Yousuf Mohmmed (204-82) added 15 points respectively for the hosts. Qatar Sports Club's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Al Rayyan (4-6) moved-up to sixth place. Qatar Sports Club at the other side dropped to the third position with three games lost. They share it with Al Wakrah. Al Rayyan's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Doha Al Shamal.
