Regular Season Round 23: Shanxi BD - Shanghai S. 97-116

The game between closely ranked teams ended with thirteenth ranked Sharks' (11-12) road victory over 14th ranked Brave Dragons (9-14) 116-97 on Tuesday. They outrebounded Brave Dragons 49-35 including a 39-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. Sharks shot the lights out from three sinking 19 long-distance shots on high 57.6 percentage. The best player for the winners was American Nick Minnerath (207-88, college: Detroit Mercy) who had a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!) and 17 rebounds. His fellow American import point guard Jimmer Fredette (188-89, college: BYU) chipped in 41 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds. Argentinian-Spanish power forward Luis Scola (206-80) produced a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds and international guard LingXu Zeng (193-87) added 22 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists respectively for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Sharks moved-up to twelfth place. Loser Brave Dragons keep the fourteenth position with 14 games lost. Sharks will face bottom-ranked Blue Whales (#20) in Sichuan in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Brave Dragons will play on the road against Fly Dragons (#10) in Beijing and hope to win that game.
