Regular Season Round 9: TLU/Kalev - Tartu Ulikool 82-80

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Tartu Ulikool (6-3) against eleventh ranked TLU/Kalev (5-4) on Wednesday night. Visiting Tartu Ulikool was edged by TLU/Kalev in a tough game in Tallinn 80-82. Tartu Ulikool was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. American-DR Congolese center Bambale Osby (203-86, college: Maryland, agency: Octagon Europe) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 14 rebounds for the winners and point guard Reimo Tamm (188-84) chipped in 19 points. Osby is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. The best for the losing side was Janar Talts (206-83) with 25 points and 8 rebounds and forward Kristjan Kitsing (205-90, agency: Octagon Europe) scored 17 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for TLU/Kalev. They moved-up to fourth place. Loser Tartu Ulikool dropped to the second position with three games lost. TLU/Kalev will meet higher ranked BK Ogre (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Tartu Ulikool will have a break next round.
