Regular Season Round 12: Timba Timis. - BC Timisoara 83-98

Another interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Timisoara: BC Timisoara (#3) and Timba Timosoara (#10). Timba Timosoara was defeated at home 83-98 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. The guests trailed by 7 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 98-83. BC Timisoara forced 20 Timba Timosoara turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman Jordan Burgess (196, college: VCU) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds and international point guard Octavian Calota (189-84) who added 10 points, 6 rebounds, 9 assists and 5 steals during the contest. The best for the losing side was American forward Cameron Naylor (201-94, college: Texas St.) with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds and Mario Lazar (201-94) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 14 rebounds. Five BC Timisoara and four Timba Timosoara players scored in double figures. BC Timisoara maintains third position with 9-3 record behind leader UBT Cluj Napoca. Timba Timosoara lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the tenth place with ten games lost. BC Timisoara will face Pitesti (#6) at home in the next round. Timba Timosoara will play against the league's leader UBT Cluj Napoca (#1) and hope to win that game.
